Hand & Heart makeover
We have recently installed a music system at the well known Hand and Heart pub on Derby Road. The pub had been closed for a number of years but then the freehold was acquired by Dawn and Taras Suchoruczka who have sympathetically refurbished it. We were approached to design and install a reasonably priced system that would provide good quality sound throughout the pub. We installed 100V line equipment from Monacor www.monacor.com to allow us to use the cabling that had already been put in by the electrician. The system uses an ipod as the source, allowing the user to create playlists that provide an even spread of sound throughout the bar and dining area. “Many pubs fall into the trap of installing a small number of speakers and then have to turn the sound up high, particularly when it is busy, so that the music can be heard,” said Castle’s managing director, Jeff Allen. “The best solution is to install more speakers so that the sound is spread evenly throughout – and that’s the approach we have adopted at the Hand and Heart.” “It’s great to see this pub open again,” added Jeff. “I used to frequent it many years ago so it brings back some fond memories. I really like what Dawn and Taras have done too – they’ve brought up to date without taking away its original character.”
